The Mafia Wars Application is giving all players who can find the request a free Collectable Stat Card from Set 6. This is awesome because Collectable Stat Cards contain skill points and we won’t get much better than that for free. To make sure the skill points apply to your stats, check them out before and after.
1. Go to your Apps Center. Look for the link on the left column of your Home Page or use the link below.
2. Find the “Requests” link in the bottom left column of the App Center.
3. Click on the “Requests” link.
4. Find the Mafia Wars App and expand the requests if you don’t see the request in the few that are showing.
5. Locate the request that says “Here’s a new Collectable Card for you!” and click on the “Accept” button. If you don't want to do a lot of scrolling, hit the control + the F key at the same time and type in "Collectable" and it will take you there (if your request is on the page). If your request is not there than you need to click on the “Ignore all” link shown above and start searching your queue.
You will get the popup shown above and the first Collectable Stat Card from Set 6 which comes with +1 attack and +2 stamina.
To make sure you got your card, don’t bother doing an inventory search as you won’t find Collectable Stat Cards there. You need to use the Inventory Tab but choose “Collections & Vaults”. Set 6 is the current batch of Collectable Stat Cards so it will be the default.
You should see your new card in the first position of series 1.
If you don’t trust that you got the skill points, now is time to check your Stats History. If you saved a data point right before you collected your card, just run it again. If you did not then it may be more difficult to tell. If you don’t get your card or skill points (make sure you refresh the page or aren't looking at an old window), or can’t locate the request, contact Customer Support.
Collectable Stat Cards are on sale for 30% off the price. This puts them at about 10 reward points each if you buy them in multiples of 3. It’s still not a good deal as you can get more skill points per reward point by speeding up your crafting timers. This is especially true if you wait for the next On the Double where you get to builds for the price of 2. I can get 40 health points for 12 reward points so getting +4 (sometimes more with the uncommon and rare cards) skill points for 10 reward points doesn’t get me excited. If Zynga would stop with the “randomness” and so many duplicate cards, I would consider buying these cards again. Set 7 is on the way and I would love to see some changes.
