Build or upgrade items as many times as you can, we're giving you the power to choose what's best for you.
Collect and spend as many parts as you can for 7 days, after which you will have 5 days to complete your builds and collect your items.

Get Parts From :


Feeds: Earn up to 30 parts (0/30) per day by having your friends click on your feeds. You can post a feed every 2 hours (provided you have not reached the daily limit) and get a maximum of 10 parts per feed. In addition, you can earn up to 10 parts (0/10) per day by clicking on your friends' feeds.
Jobs: Get up to 5 parts (0/5) per day as loot drops while doing jobs.



The daily limit timers reset at 00:00:00 AM PST.


It works just like the 4 before it (Hellish Hydraulics, Ripped Rims, Repelled Poles and Jailbreaker). We have a total of 7 days to collect as many consumable items called the Z-Day Virus.

The 2 items we can upgrade and build are the Zombie Responder and the Zombified Wolf.  There are 5 levels of mastery for each item. Their stats are listed below. The Ruby and Emerald Level Zombie Responders come with +1 and +2 attack, the Ruby and Emerald Level Zombified Wolf come with +1 and +2 defense.

The consumable item we will need to collect to upgrade and build the items shown above is the Z-Day Virus.

The number of parts needed to build each item are listed below. Obviously we will want to build Ruby or Emerald Level items because those come with skill points. The loot will be outdated so I wouldn’t focus on the first 3 levels.

When you click on “Send Parts”, you will get a part too. You can gain an additional 10 Z-Day Viruses per day by helping your mafia.  There are no caps on these posts so as many mafia that click on them will get a part and there are no caps on how many players you can send parts to.

You can get 5 Z-Day Viruses per day from doing jobs. They will drop randomly in all jobs in all destinations to include Secret Districts. The drop rate is not good but most players should be able to get 5 per day. If you don’t have a lot of energy, try doing cheaper jobs. You can get an additional 5 items from doing jobs if they drop while the Lockpick Bonus is activated.

To break it down, you can get up to a maximum of 50 Z-Day Viruses per day for free. The reset time is the same as Family Progression at 12am Pacific Time. If you collect the maximum number of parts per day, you should end up with 350 once the event is over (315 if you don’t benefit from the Lockpick Bonus). During the past 2 Crafter’s Choice Events, Zynga has passed out a free gift of 10 consumable items so hopefully that will happen again.

The crafting page will then appear. It costs 10, 20, 30, and 40 Z-Day Viruses to upgrade to the Silver, Gold, Ruby and Emerald levels for each item. This comes to a total of 200 to get your items fully upgraded. Your remaining Z-Day Viruses can be used to build items. As you build more items, the cost to build them will increase.

The stats of the Emerald Level items are not very impressive nor do they motivate me to spend reward points on consumables. If you have a VIP subscription and are maxed on the current VIP loot, they will only improve your score by +5. If the trend of VIP loot refreshes continues, they will be obsolete in a few weeks.

The second phase of the event will last for 5 days. You can upgrade and build items as you go or wait until the last 5 days. Again, it’s your choice. You won’t get the items until you collect them so it really doesn’t matter. I prefer to upgrade and build as I go. Once the “Collect” button becomes un-shadowed we will get the items we have built at the level we have upgraded them plus the skill points. It’s best to do this as soon as possible because the banner will be removed from your Home Page and you will be done with it.
