In Mafia Wars, nothing is worse than waiting out the spinning bullets for your page to load only to be met with half a page. Scrolling does no good and the only option is to reload the page and hope it fully loads. It’s been happing to players for years but the frequency has definitely increased. This is especially annoying when a Bandit hits and you can’t scroll down far enough to eliminate it. At this point you have 5 minutes to get a full page. The now you see him now you don’t Bandit (and other half page issues) does not aid to game enjoyment.
Mafia Wars is played on the Facebook API and all developers must adapt whenever Facebook decides to make changes. To help developers plan for changes that require code modifications, Facebook offers a Developers Road Map Page Click Here. Facebook announced in May that on August 1st, some of the code related to page resizing would stop working. Martin of Team Spockholm has pointed out to players inquiring about half page issues that FB.setAutoResize() is no longer functional and will be removed on September 5th. According to Martin, all Zynga needs to do is use FB.setAutoGrow() instead. I don’t know what all that means but it didn’t take long to find it on the Developers Road Map shown below.
For those who don’t know, half page issues do not exist on unframed pages. If you want to avoid them, all you need to do is play on the Spockholm fake unframed page . Bookmark the link below, use it to enter the game and your half page issues will be a thing of the past.
