The Mafia Wars Application is giving all players who can find the request a free Tender Hooks which are the consumable items for the latest Secret District called The Slaughterhouse. I’m not complaining, but you can get tons of these for free by accepting gifts or asking your mafia. You can also farm as many as you would like doing the first job. As far a free gifts are concerned, these rank in the meh category. The useless fight boosts were comical at best, loot items were cool (we still haven’t gotten the Glow Worm), Mag Energizers were super cool and the Collectable Stat Card that came with skill points was hella cool! To get your free Tender Hooks, read the instructions below.
1. Go to your Apps Center. Look for the link on the left column of your Home Page or use the link below.
2. Find the “Requests” link in the bottom left column of the App Center.
3. Click on the “Requests” link.
4. Find the Mafia Wars App and expand the requests if you don’t see the request in the few that are showing.
5. Locate the request that says “Use 10 Tender Hooks to up your game in Slaughterhouse” and click on the “Accept” button. If you don't want to do a lot of scrolling and scanning, hit the control + the F key at the same time and type in “10 Tender Hooks or Slaughterhouse” and it will take you there (if your request is on the page). If your request is not there than you need to click on the “Ignore all” link shown above and start searching your queue.
Zynga didn’t think this one through. Obviously most of us are sending Tender Hook requests to our mafia and gifts are flowing. If you try to use the search feature and type in Tender Hooks, it won’t help you. If your request is not there, you will probably need to go into your request queue. To do this, scan your visible request to ensure it’s not there, then click on the “Ignore all” link at the top of the Mafia Wars request area.
You will get a confirmation that 100 requests were ignored and the option to block or report Mafia Wars for being abusive. If you’re addicted and can’t do it, just fantasize.
Now repeat steps 1-4 over and over until you find the request. It is there so don’t give up. I had to do it a total of 4 times before I found mine.
This may seem like a lot of work to get 10 items that you can easily get elsewhere in the game but many want as many Tender Hooks as possible. For the duration of the Slaughterhouse, there is a job with a 2.33 experience/energy ratio and it requires 1 Tender Hook per click. This is currently the best ratio in the game so I’m keeping my Tender Hook supply healthy.
